I went to buy a stroller and came back to find that my Facebook page was full of related ads Are We Monitored?
Have we become so watched?!. Not surprisingly, especially since we give permission to apps like Facebook, WhatsApp and Messenger to access our location, our phones' microphones, contact names, and even cameras.
Facebook and spying |
When I returned home that day, after I searched with my wife in baby supply stores for a stroller for our next child, God willing, I began browsing the Facebook application and other sites via Google to find a good number of ads that are all related to strollers, or baby supplies in a way public.
Did Facebook and other tech companies know that I intended to buy a cart as soon as I visited that store? Was turning on location data the cause? Is the microphone also to blame?
WHAT SHOULD WE DO Is it necessary to stop using social media applications entirely because our data and personal information are more at risk than before.
Should any connection be it location data, roaming data, bluetooth, or wifi be turned off when leaving the house?
Unfortunately you and everyone else is "watchers"!
The solution is to abandon all applications associated with Facebook and Google and go to the alternative, especially when we have many Arab and international alternatives that are safe and free of ads and protect the security and privacy of users.
Examples: Telegram, Signal is an alternative to WhatsApp, Meteor and Mii is an alternative to Facebook, Tutanota mail is an alternative to Gmail, the Pure Apk store is an alternative to the Play Store, and others.
If the matter stops only at advertisements, it will not cause me any sensitivity, but do you know what happens with the information that is taken from you without your clear permission?!
Are tech companies telling you that this information taken from you will only be used for ads, or will it be sold to third parties like the Facebook scandal 3 years ago?
"The commission is investigating allegations that Facebook improperly shared the personal data of 87 million users with bankrupt British consultancy Kimberg Analytica."
Does Facebook have the right to collect your information from WhatsApp conversations in order to target ads according to what you talk to your friends and relatives?! And how long will you remain safe?! Can employees not see this information or even leak it?! Why is the European Union concerned about Facebook's privacy policy and threatened to close it in Europe?!
Many question and exclamation marks affect large technology companies, as they have become very exploitative.
I hope you get my message and my concerns, I like you enjoy in ads sometimes, but I'm thinking what would happen if these companies knew everything about us even our voices reach them once the phone is on and connected to the network.
